What it is
-
Active ingredient: Tadalafil 20 mg (PDE-5 inhibitor)
-
Indication: Erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men
-
Onset/Duration: Starts in 30–60 min, lasts up to 36 h
-
Food: Food has minimal effect; alcohol can blunt response
Regulatory note (U.S.): “Vidalista” brands are not FDA-approved. Use only via a licensed clinician and state-licensed pharmacy. Counterfeit risk is high with unverified sellers.
How it works
Inhibits PDE-5, preserving cGMP in penile smooth muscle. With sexual stimulation this improves arterial inflow and erection quality. No effect without arousal.
Dosing (evidence-based)
-
As-needed: 10 mg about 1 hour before sex; adjust to 20 mg or 5 mg based on response/tolerability. Max once per 24 h.
-
Daily option: 2.5–5 mg once daily (same time each day) for men needing frequent dosing.
-
Do not combine with other ED drugs the same day unless a clinician directs.
How to take
Swallow with water. Avoid excess alcohol. Heavy meals do not meaningfully reduce effect, but very high alcohol intake can increase dizziness and lower efficacy.
Do not use if you
-
Take nitrates or riociguat
-
Have recent MI/stroke, unstable angina, severe hypotension or uncontrolled hypertension
-
Have severe liver disease, or advanced kidney disease without specialist guidance
-
Have certain retinal disorders (e.g., retinitis pigmentosa) or prior NAION
-
Are allergic to tadalafil or excipients
-
Are women or under 18
Interactions
-
CYP3A4 inhibitors ↑ levels: ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin, ritonavir (may require dose limits/avoidance)
-
CYP3A4 inducers ↓ levels: rifampin, carbamazepine, phenytoin, St. John’s wort
-
Alpha-blockers/antihypertensives: hypotension risk; require careful spacing and low-dose starts
-
Alcohol: increases dizziness; limit
-
Grapefruit: may raise levels; best avoided around dosing
Possible side effects
Common: Headache, flushing, indigestion, nasal congestion, back pain, myalgia, dizziness.
Serious—seek care: Chest pain, severe dizziness/syncope, priapism (erection >4 h), sudden vision or hearing loss, allergic reaction.
Storage
Store at room temperature, protected from heat and light. Keep in original packaging. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
FAQs
How long does Vidalista 20 last? Up to 36 hours of responsiveness; not a continuous erection.
Can I take it daily? Yes, at 2.5–5 mg daily if a clinician recommends. Do not exceed one dose per 24 h.
Can I mix with sildenafil or vardenafil? No—avoid stacking PDE-5 inhibitors.
What if 20 mg feels too strong? Ask about 10 mg or 5 mg as-needed, or the daily 2.5–5 mg regimen.
